Evaluation Question Three: What have you learnt from your audience research

Evaluation Question Two: “How effective is the combination of your main task and ancillary task?”

Looking at my Digipack and its effectiveness I think that I have done very well. Starting with the relation of my Digipack to my artists I think I have formed a clear relationship. I think the Digipack clearly represents the target audience in which my artists aim for. This is done by the images in which I have selected to represent the youth in which Is the main tar 
get audience for my artists. Also as the song is “opposite of adults” the title gives a clear indication in what message the artists are trying to portray and from the editing and how I have displayed my dii pack I think that I have managed to portray this image very well.

The two distinctive features in which I have on my Digipack in which I am very pleased with is the images and how they are edited for effect and how my titles work well with the images. Firstly talking about the effectiveness of my images I think my editing does do justice on the images to give it good effectiveness to portray the image in which I want from my artists. The ways in which I know also I have done well with the images is from my audience research. When asking multiple people question such as what they thought of my Digipack one of the answers in which I received was “I really like in how you have displayed your artist, the effective of them being in black and white and only certain items in the picture having some colour makes the image very powerful” . This comment was very encouraging. I felt this was one of my strong points also within my Digipack also so having this comment from my audience research was very appreciative. This comment also gives helps me to show the effectiveness of my Digipack. Another way in which the effectiveness of my Digipack was shown was through the use of the typical conventions in which are found within all CD Digipacks. From the use of typical conventions within my Digipack I think that it is a major factor in which has increased its effectiveness. The titles, album, song names and record label logo are all features in which give a more professional feel to my Digipack and gives the feel to the reader of a real Digipack.

Overall I think that my Digipack was the most effective aspect of my promotional package. Its effectiveness i think is very good and the way it appeals to the target audience in which i am aiming for is very pleasing. Also the ways in which the features are displayed and the images chosen clearly represent the artists in which i am trying to portray showing good effectiveness and similarities towards the artists. The Digipack I feel greatly promotes the artists in a positive way and am very happy in the way in which it turned out.

 

 Moving onto my Music magazine advert and its effectiveness. Through the use of black and white being the main effect throughout the music video it has emphasized its genre of rap. The ways in which the rap genre is emphasized through the use of black and white is because rap is usually portrayed as a negative genre. The genre usually is telling messages about something in which they do not like or have a problem with and through the use of black and white effect on the magazine advert also emphasis this negativity. Through the use of audience feedback i have also got knowledge on how effective my music magazine was. One of the feedback in which i received was  from a 18 year old girl saying "I like the way in which the artists are represented within the music magazine. The way in which some colors are shown very briefly is effective in the way in how the user has to concentrate on the magazine to see all features". The magazine advert feedback is quite encourage to show the effectiveness of my promotional package. From the feedback it show that i clearly managed to portray the image of how the artists are shown to be like the real chiddy bang in which is encouraging. 

In conclusion, from the audience feedback in which i received i believe that i managed to create a clear link between my music video and my Magazine advert. This is shown through the use of being out like children and doing childlike things. My music video shows the sense of no stress and being quite calm, in which are the characteristics in which are shown from children. The use of the font also shows quite childlike features and this i think greatly portrays the message in which i was trying to get across in the music video.   

 

Lastly looking at my music video. The effect in which i was trying to portray throughout the music video was the sense of fun and reminding viewers of what type of childlike activities they used to do. This i think is shown in my music magazine and my digipack. Through the mis-en-scene within the music video the effectiveness is greatly shown to represent their childlike features as they are not dressed as a sophisticated adult would. The locations are also another feature within my music video in which shows good effectiveness of showing places in which you would associate with children and getting the message across in which i wanted to show. Through the editing is another way in which shows the effectiveness of what message i was portraying. The dancing scenes and the reversing of the scenes shows good in sync with the beat and making the user want to dance and get up. This is something in which i think is done quite well and displays a strong message. 

Overall looking at my music video i have portrayed the childlike image in which i wanted to get across and makes the audience reflect back on their childhood. Throughout the whole of the promotional package i think that i have managed to maintain portraying this message and that i have done it well enough for the audiences to also know of this message.

Evaluation: Question One

Finished Music Video

Below is the finished version of my music video.

Editing: Day 1

Below i have started doing my editing day one. Here i have changed the composition of the music video to 1280x720 meaning i will have my music video all in HD. Once i had set the screen size i had to import the files in which i had recorded. the way i went about doing the was going onto the Premier Pr CS6 and clicking on File > Import > and then selecting the files from their saved destination. Once i had imported the file i wanted they were position in a small window and allowing me to click onto files i wanted. I firstly started by dragging the music file of my chosen song onto the Audio 1 field within premier pro. The file in which i included was a simple shot of my walking through a tunnel next to the wall. the reason why i chose to do this was because there is a small intro in which the clip fits in with. Once i had done this at the start of the video there is a small count down from 5 to 1, From this i decided to add titles in which would match this creating a visual countdown as well. The way i added titles was by clicking on the tab Title > New Title > Default Still. This allowed a window to appear in which i then created the titles from.

Filming: Day 2

My second day of filming consisted of my new cast members. The Filming took place in a series of different places, for example my first place that filming took place in was inside my friends bedroom. Within this location the only shots i got were shot of the main character, these were not shots in which were lip syncing but they were shots in which i could most definitely put into my music video as it matches the songs beat. Once i had shots of just my main character we went into my friends back garden in which it was a bright day and the garden looked very ideal for us to film in. In this location we got quite a few good shots in which were good for lip syncing. We managed to record my chosen artist to lip sync to the chorus in which was vital, so from this location i was very pleased with these shots. Once we had recorded and were happy with the shot we got we thought as the songs basic meaning is for the characters to act like children it would be ideal to record in a park. Once we had done the Park shooting the final record was through some streets and shots just small clips in which i would be able to fit into my music video to take up space in which i do not have lip syncing for. Over all i feel that this was quite a successful day in shooting as a lot of recording what was helpful was done.
